Going over some prior News at CNN money.com and I was reminded of Warren Buffett and his investments in Sudan which link to the genocide taking place in the Darfur region. Part of the Berkshire Hathaway holdings are invested in 2.3 billion shares of PetroChina Co., which does major business in Sudan. The Sudan divestment movement is persuading lots of universities and state governments to sell off all investments that do business in Sudan. Back in April they attempted to convince Buffett to do the same. The Results are in and it seems as though Berkshire shareholders have decided that investing in companies that do business in regions that support genocide is in their best interest. It is iron will such as this that makes the stock so impressive.
